Understand the context
Why is this material relevant to the work?
HOW WE THINK ABOUT INGREDIENTS
Context can explain why a material is worth exploring. Identity tells us what it is. Formulation gives it a role. The finished product determines what the evidence can support.
We keep those questions separate so that an interesting story does not become a product claim before the product is ready.
FROM MATERIAL TO FORMULA
Every material moves through a series of questions.
Why is this material relevant to the work?
What is it, and in what form is it supplied?
What purpose might it serve in this formula?
How does it work with the other components?
What can we responsibly say after formulation and evaluation?
WHAT AN INGREDIENT MUST EARN
The name, material and form should be documented clearly.
An ingredient belongs in a formula for a reason, not simply for recognition.
The complete formula matters more than any ingredient in isolation.
We describe ingredients using evidence about the material and the finished product.
BOTANICAL MATERIALS UNDER STUDY
Our current botanical development direction is Zao Jiao and tea leaf extract. This is a development direction, not a finalized ingredient list.
Their final inclusion, supplied form, role and any product-specific language will follow the finished formula and supporting evidence.
FORMULATION IS A SYSTEM
A finished product depends on how its components work together. For a solid hair-cleansing format, that includes the cleansing system, rinse and after-feel, structure through repeated use, scent and the supporting materials that hold the formula together.
Those decisions belong to the finished formula. They should not be inferred from one botanical name.
The cleansing system is considered as part of the complete formula.
Rinse and after-feel depend on the complete product.
A solid format must be considered through repeated wetting, drying and storage.
Scent is part of the total experience and remains product-dependent.
WATER, RINSE AND SENSORY CONTEXT
Water conditions and use patterns can shape how a formula rinses and feels. Scent, texture and after-use experience also depend on the complete product.
Product-specific statements will follow the finished formula and appropriate evaluation.
DEVELOPMENT STATUS
We separate what is known from what is still being developed. Product-specific ingredient lists, sourcing details and performance information appear only when they are confirmed for the finished product.
